TIMSS

What is TIMSS?

The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) is an international comparative assessment conducted by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), an independent international association of national research institutions and governmental agencies that has been carrying out cross-national studies of educational achievement since 1959. TIMSS assesses the competences of 4th- and 8th-grade students in Mathematics and Science and investigates long-term trends in education systems.
